PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION

Recognized the inefficiencies and discomfort of traditional potato peelers, questioning the necessity of the handle and focusing on the natural grip closer to the blade.

  • Created multiple clay mockups, refining designs based on feedback and personal observations.
  • ​Developed a final model using hard foam and silicone molds, iterating through several attempts to perfect the molding process.

Conducted detailed observations and sketches to understand hand movements and grip patterns, leading to the concept of a peeler that function as an extension of the hand.

FINAL PRODUCT CREATION
 
  • Successfully cast the final product in plastic, emphasizing finger indents for intuitive grip and integrating a "fake blade" to complete.
  • Addressed practical concerns such as fit in standard kitchen drawers and intuitive usage through design tweaks.
